Michelle Gonzalez, M.S., graduated from Montclair State University with a major in Psychology and minor in Sociology. She completed her master’s at Thomas Jefferson University in Community Trauma Counseling in 2019 while experiencing a traumatic loss of a loved one. During her master’s program, Michelle interned at a high school in the Philadelphia School District where she was able to connect with students with different traumas and grief and found a passion in working with youth.
Michelle identifies as a first-generation Ecuadorian American. Michelle works with grieving students as a bilingual Senior Uplift Clinician. She also partners with bilingual/bicultural clinicians at Uplift to provide support and connections with Spanish-speaking children and families. Michelle has worked on a National Alliance for Children’s Grief committee, collaborating and using her voice with professionals all over the country to raise awareness in grief.
