Bethany has been working in the nonprofit world for nearly 15 years, after studying English and Communications at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. She comes to Uplift by way of The Pew Charitable Trusts and The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, where her work in grantmaking focused on health and human services, and civic engagement and countering social fragmentation. In her most recent work with The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia, Bethany helped build the Fund’s capacity for fundraising and project management, and worked to form and strengthen public-private partnerships.
